The exhibition ”The Local Business” tells stories from small Copenhagen shops that are not part of a chain but stand on their own, often through generations. Shop owner Charlotte Mai from “Mai’s Curtains” and photographer Ulf Svane share their experiences from both behind and in front of the counter. Moderator: Historian Trine Halle
Jokum Rohde and Søren Ulrik Thomsen will discuss their book "Copenhagen Con Amore" – a richly illustrated city walk through the metropolis's forgotten backyards, strangely old-fashioned auto repair shops, small elegant hat stores, grill bars, adult shops, pubs, laundromats, and gloomy offices on the third floor.
Per Rock is Denmark's uncrowned king of dance, bringing atmosphere, energy, and joy. In this dance session, everyone is welcome to join as Per guides us through dances like the Twist, The Jerk, Wah-tusi, Shake, Hully Gully, and The Stroll (Soul Train).
Drop by the museum's cozy basement bistro, where you'll find warm meatballs, beer, and retro music. DJ Per Rock will "illustrate and narrate" a bit about a bygone era and has put together a playlist that matches the atmosphere of the charming small shops and the tunes that bring out an extra smile.
