Kai Nielsen was fascinated by the human body. He depicted strong male bodies, drawing from classical ideals, but he is best known for his small statuettes, which were produced in large quantities and are still found in many private homes. Get an introduction to Nielsen’s life and artistic work. The introductions are in Danish.
Explore the Glyptotek’s collection of bodies. You can get up close to Egyptian pharaohs, mummies, gods, warriors, and emperors. Throughout the evening, there will be guides in the museum’s ancient collection who can talk about the sculptures, the body ideals of the time and how embalming is done.
In the Winter Garden, there is a cozy sculpture workshop. We work with paper and cardboard. We crumple, tear, press, and fold until the paper and cardboard finally take on a body and weight and maybe even stand as a sculpture. There are blankets to sit on, and our hosts tell stories about the sculptures, provide inspiration, and offer help.
Experience a magical reflection concert in the Glyptotek’s beautiful Festive Hall. Enter a world of inner peace and contemplation in Noah Rosanes’ unique musical and visual universe. During the concert, the audience can anonymously submit their thoughts and reflections via a QR code. These reflections will be transformed into spoken-word pieces.
Experience the exhibition The Song is the Call and the Land is Calling by the Palestinian artist duo Basel Abbas and Ruanne Abou-Rahme. The exhibition delves into the collective memory of humanity and the relationship between cultural heritage and identity. There will be an art guide in the exhibition throughout the evening.
At the Glyptotek’s café, Picnic, it will be possible to buy a delicious evening meal until 8:30 PM. Drinks and snacks will be available for purchase throughout the evening.
