Kunsthal Charlottenborg invites you to an evening where art, music, literature, history and light come together in the historic setting of Charlottenborg Palace.

Experience the current exhibitions, explore the historic halls of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, listen to readings by visual artist and author Amalie Smith, and immerse yourself in the vibrant sounds of vocal ensemble Ung Klang. In the historic courtyard, you can also experience a site-specific light installation by light artist and scenographer Mads Vegas, transforming the architecture of Charlottenborg.

Light installation by Mads Vegas

As darkness falls, Charlottenborg’s historic courtyard is transformed by a site-specific light installation by artist and scenographer Mads Vegas. Inspired by the palace’s Baroque architecture, the light leads visitors through the courtyard to Kunsthal Charlottenborg’s new foyer and current exhibitions.

Reading by Amalie Smith (in Danish)

How does life come into being? What happens when art, literature, sound and the body meet? In her first solo exhibition, Levende (Living), artist and author Amalie Smith explores the origins of life through sculpture, text and sound. Join a special reading and experience the exhibition from a new sensory and literary perspective.

Concert with Vocal Ensemble Ung Klang

Experience vocal ensemble Ung Klang at Kunsthal Charlottenborg as they perform Nordic melodies and songs from the Danish musical heritage. Set within the historic Baroque palace, this intimate concert brings together voice, sound and space in a unique listening experience.

Guided tour (in Danish)

Join author and curator Jens Tang Kristensen for a guided tour of Charlottenborg Palace and discover the history of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. During Culture Night, explore historic rooms that are normally closed to the public. Registration takes place at the reception. 20 places per tour.
