We’re opening the doors to the Royal Cast Collection, which is normally closed to the public. Throughout the evening, both children and adults can create imaginative creatures from sticky plaster and strands of flax in the creative workshop – or immerse themselves in the art of drawing in front of the sculptures.
Join museum curator Henrik Holm on a journey of discovery through the old warehouse and experience selected casts being brought to life as students from the Department of Classical Archaeology perform “ekphrasis” – the fine art of bringing a work of art to life through poetic and vivid spoken descriptions that encompass myths, stories, and connections to our own time.

Try your hand at art and create your very own plaster figure. Together with the workshop’s skilled assistants, we’ll pour plaster into moulds and create imaginative creatures using sticky plaster and strands of flax. In the Workshop
Bring mysterious creatures, bulging muscles, and twisted bodies to life. Throughout the evening, delve into the art of drawing as we invite you to a drawing workshop surrounded by art, armed with nothing but paper and pencil. Borrow paper and pencils at the drawing station on the ground floor.
