Ebbe & Flod – A Journey into the Enchanting and Eerie Waters

As darkness falls, Nørrebro Library transforms into a sensory universe of water, light, sound, music and stories.

Under the theme Ebb & Flow, the library’s spaces are transformed with projections and visual experiments by light artist Rune Brink. The evening begins with bubble shows, workshops and a bubble disco for children and families.

Later, enjoy readings, poetry, stories and an atmospheric programme of ambient music and sound.

Letters to the Mediterranean: Write a letter

As part of the exhibitions SOLID: THE SOCIAL LIFE OF DEAD BODIES and A Name, Not a Number, write a letter or draw a picture for someone who lost their life crossing the Mediterranean. From 20:30, selected letters will be read aloud as we light candles and remember those who lost their lives.

Nikolaj Gerstenfeldt

Recordings of the open sea and sky have travelled through dusty reel-to-reel tape machines, violin strings, wooden boxes fitted with contact microphones, and a host of analogue filters. Now they meet in a strange, sometimes sinister, sometimes friendly mechanical soundscape.

The Snönthesizer show

Snöleoparden and Kim Daniel Borch have created a monstrous ambient machine from old mixing desks. Based on no-input feedback, everything in the system influences everything else – even responding to the space around it. The result is an organic, ever-changing soundscape of ambient noise and drone.

Snøleoparden

The Danish-Pakistani musician performs in many forms and colours, with a wide range of instruments in his repertoire. What he brings along on the day remains to be seen – and will certainly be interesting to discover.

Kim Borch

Satellite hacker and synth engineer Kim Borch joins the programme with an improvised drone concert performed on his own handmade instruments. Expect a massive wall of sound.
