A luminous tower

This year, the Round Tower celebrates the 350th anniversary of Ole Rømer’s discovery of the speed of light. For this reason, this year’s Culture Night will be dedicated to light, and the tower will be illuminated in an atmospheric light installation that evokes thoughts of the stars and the infinite universe.

At the Observatory, visitors can look through the newly restored telescope and experience the night sky up close. In the spiral ramp, the tower’s astronomy guides will talk about constellations, planets, and much more.

In the Library Hall, visitors can experience the exhibition "Ole Rømer and the Great Discovery", as well as the science exhibition "Light Echoes", which explores how we perceive the universe through light and time.
