The Ryesgade Occupation

The Police Museum describes the exciting and eventful history of the Danish police, from their origin to the present day.

The museum also gives you a sense of how the police tackle various forms of crime, from hustles, counterfeiting and theft to spectacular robberies and homicide.

All talks and city tours throughout the evening will be available in Danish only. As an English-speaking visitor, a leaflet containing a selection of stories from the museum will be available at the entrance.

You can also visit out pop-up photo exibition about the nine-day confrontation in Ryesgade that took place 40 years ago between the police and the BZ-movement. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see historic police cars and motorcycles.

Pop-up photo exhibition

Join the police forensic technicians after the nine-day conflict in Ryesgade and the occupation of Ryesgade 58. Their photographs offer a unique glimpse of the barricades, homemade weapons, and life inside the BZ movement’s largest occupied building.
