Nice to Know about Culture Night and Family Culture Night

You have looked at the weather forecast, thought about what to wear and now you are looking forward to going out among lots of happy people for an unforgettable evening. Family Culture Night – Nice to Know

Family Culture Night for Children

Family Culture Night events are only for children accompanied by their adults. All events are unique and can only be experienced on Family Culture Night when the children can let go their natural curiosity and creativity.

Time and Place

Family Culture Night takes place in Copenhagen and Frederiksberg, and every year in week 11 on the Friday between 16:00 – 20:00. This means that all children can take part and have a lot of fun before bedtime.

The next Family Culture Night will be on Friday 13 March 2026.

Culture Night Pass – Your Ticket to it All

A Culture Night Pass costs DKK 125 and allows you to take two children under 12 free of charge to Family Culture Night. The Culture Night Pass gives you free admission to all events on Family Culture Night and in addition free transportation for the Culture Night Pass holder and two children under 12 in Greater Copenhagen. Programme – Your Guide to Family Culture Night

The programme for Family Culture Night is only available online via the website. It is published when we get closer to the date. In the programme you can sort in areas or categories so that you quickly can get an overview of the events matching your preferred district and interests or you can go exploring for something completely different. In addition, each event will state in the programme whether they target small or older children or whether they are open to everyone.

Events and Booking

Remember to check whether some of the events you are interested in require booking; it is a pity to come and find there is no room. You can go directly to booking via the event’s page in the programme.

Changes

The programme will also keep you updated if one of your planned events is changed or cancelled. It happens very rarely, but it does happen, so it is always a good idea to check.

My Culture Night – Save your Favourites

You can ‘like’ the events you are especially interested in so that they are automatically added to your personal list ‘My Culture Night’, or you can choose to have your list sent to you by e-mail. This function simply requires that you accept all cookies when you enter the website.

Food and Drink

If you were not able to eat before leaving home, it is easy to fill big and small stomachs on Family Culture Night. Many museums and cultural institutions keep their cafés open and offer child-friendly meals that evening. Elsewhere there is communal dining, campfire bread on a stick or exciting tastings, and there are also organizers who invite you to eat your own picnic on their premises. Check the programme for the many options; you can search directly in the category ‘Buy a meal’. Please note that you might have to book a table, check the event’s page.
