Royal masquerade ball
Did you know that another palace once stood where Amalienborg stands today? It was called Sophie Amalienborg. It was built for Queen Sophie Amalie, who naturally named the beautiful palace after herself. At the palace, she hosted lavish parties. With inspiration from these historical balls, we invite children and adults to attend a royal evening at Amalienborg in the spirit of Queen Sophie Amalie!
In our Garden Hall, you can make your own masks for the ball. In the Gala Hall, children can try on royal costumes from our Royal Workroom at Koldinghus and dance under the chandeliers to royal music from the time of Sophie Amalie. You can also have a portrait photo taken as a memento of your night at the royal palace.
