Open house at The Danish Engineers´ Association

Come in and enjoy our old, conservation-worthy house, which has been completely renovated inside and out and exudes history and originality. In the past, many engineers were seafarers, and this can still be seen in the house. Experience the memorial plaque with 195 Danish machine gun officers who lost their lives during the Second World War. Also meet the Ocean Plastic Forum. OPF helps remove plastic from the world's oceans and recycle it into new products. Come in and see examples of what you can get out of used fishing nets - you might even be lucky enough to get some home. At the top, you can have a look out into one of the old backyards, which is one of the hallmarks of the old Frederiks Stad.

The history of 'Mindetavlen'

In our house hangs a commemorative plaque for 195 Danish engineer officers who lost their lives at sea during the Second World War. They are listed one by one by name - but without the story of how they tragically lost their lives at sea. Their stories are told by Gustav Schmidt Hansen on Kulturnatten.
