The Culture Night has existed for more than 30 years!
The first Culture Night saw the light of day on 15 October 1993. At that time there were 45 participating locations.
Every year a new artist creates his or her interpretation of the rich diversity represented by Culture Night and captures the overall spirit of the event.

The Culture Night is Copenhagen’s biggest annual one-day event, where more than 200 cultural institutions open their doors on the Friday before the autumn holidays to invite the public inside for an unforgettable evening in the diverse world of culture. Since 2019, we have also welcomed spring with Family Culture Night, which is the children’s own Culture Night.
