Culture Night at the National Gallery of Denmark

Mysteries, hidden stories, and 700 years of art. Go behind the scenes when we invite you to Culture Night at SMK – The National Gallery of Denmark.

Step into SMK after regular closing hours and explore the many mysteries and stories that lie beneath the surface. Join a guided tour around the building’s secret corridors with one of the museum’s guards, who shares incredible stories from World War II. Or join when one of the museum's art guides puts the art collection under a magnifying glass and hunts for traces of historical fires. You can also take a family guide and explore the art collection’s hidden stories on your own. Or immerse yourself in the creative workshop, where we conjure up colorful motifs from a hidden painting.
